Occupy Wall Street activists are coming up with for a nationwide series of demonstrations billed as a “general strike” on Tuesday in what can be the most important check of the movement’s organizing muscle since the winter.

A number of New Deal groups are joining together for a large-scale mobilization on May 12 to call on Mayor Bloomberg to close tax loopholes for millionaires and make the big banks pay. The Mayor released his budget today (May 6), and groups are joining in the ‘virtual rally’ to discuss the impacts of the Mayor’s proposal. Check it out, and use the hashtag #OnMay12 to join in!
