Participatory Budgeting in New York City is expanding! Starting this Fall, 1.3 million New Yorkers in 8 Council Districts will be able to decide how to spend at least $10 million.  See the press release below:

Called democratic budgeting, the program adopted by four council members last year permits New Yorkers to propose and vote on the way to pay a number of their tax bucks. Four new Council members — David Greenfield (D-Brooklyn), Daniel Halloran (R-Queens), writer Levin (D-Brooklyn) and Mark Weprin (D-Queens) — proclaimed on that they are transfer the program to their communities.
